We have come together in the sight of God and our Lord Jesus to unite these two
________________________ and ______________________ in holy marriage.

Today their paths shall become one.  From this day on, their dreams, ambitions, hopes and prayers
shall be intertwined for all time by the strength of their love for one another.

Together they will find one life laid out before them.  Through the years ahead, they will endure many
things but shall be bonded by a love that is made stronger by the struggles and accomplishments they
will complete as husband and wife.

The Word of God tells us that love is a great many things; it is kind and gentle, love never waivers or
ceases.

Today, __________ and _________ will affirm their love and devote their lives to one another.

This sweet adoration that is deeply rooted in their souls shall now be evident to all.  Here on earth
they will be united under the eyes of our Lord Jesus Christ.  In their hearts and minds ___________
and ___________ will be united and will become as one.  Just as the love of our Heavenly Father is
eternal, so shall be the love of these two for each other.

“Who gives this woman in marriage”  (Father says) “Her mother and I”

Thank you for coming here today.   Your presence here shows your love and friendship for
_________ and __________.  Your presence affirms that you agree with them in making this union in
Christ Jesus in marriage.   (Please be seated)

Matthew 19:5 says:

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and the two of them shall
become one flesh. (Verse 6 says) Wherefore they are no longer two but one flesh, and what therefore
God has joined together, let no man put asunder.

____________ and ___________  life is given to each of us as individuals, and yet me must learn to
live together.  Love is given to us by God, our family and friends.  We learn to love by being loved.
Learning to love and live together is one of the greatest challenges of life and is the shared goal of a
married life.

(Question of intent) His Vows

__________, will you promise to: uphold _________ in prayer as the priest of your house, respect
her as your bride and love of your life, honor, cherish, and protect her with all your strength in hard
times and in good times, for richer, for poorer and give yourself to her only until your life ends on this
earth?

I will

Her vows

__________ will you promise to:  uphold _________ as his glory, respect him as your husband and
love of your life, honor, cherish and protect him with all your strength in hard times and good times,
for richer, for poorer and give yourself to him only until your life ends on this earth.

I will
(Now your intentions are clear, teach each other by the hands)

(_________ repeat after me, I _________ take thee _________ to be my friend and partner, my
confidant and my companion, my lover and protector.  I will stand beside you in sickness and in health,
through good times and bad and will rejoice with you throughout eternity)

(_________ repeat after me, I _________ take thee _________ to be my friend and partner, my
confidant and my companion, my lover and protector.  I will stand beside you in sickness and in health,
through good times and bad and will rejoice with you throughout eternity)

(Unity candle if used)
From every human being, there rises a light that reaches straight to heaven, and when two souls are
destined to find each other, their two streams of light flow together and a single brighter light goes
forth from their united being.  They do not lose their individuality; yet in marriage, they are united in
so close a bond that they become one.  Now, following the profession of their marriage vows, they
will light the large center candle from the smaller candles to symbolize this new reality.  In this way,
they are saying that henceforth their light must shine together for each other, God and for their
families.

(Song) (Lighting unity candle)

Rings
From the earliest times, the circle has been a symbol of completeness, a symbol of committed love.
An unbroken and never ending circle symbolizes a commitment of love that is also never ending.  As
often as either of you looks at this symbol, I hope that you will be reminded of the commitment, which
you make here today, to love each other always.

(Will each of you repeat after me?)  Groom then bride

With this ring, I thee wed and give as a symbol of my commitment to you.

Prayer

Father God, I pray you bless and anoint __________ and __________.  Give them the knowledge of
your spirit and power to achieve your very likeness.  May they always look to you for guidance and
love for your counsel and holy presence.  Anoint them to be witnesses for your kingdom and draw
others closer to you through them.

The kiss
_________ and __________, I now pronounce you husband and wife.
Please kiss your bride.

Declaration
Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to present to Mr. and Mrs. _______________________________.
